Darien Library is a LEED Gold certified green building. In order to achieve this, we had to implement a certain number of green practices when we moved into our building. One of these was to buy a bike for staff use. So here I am enjoying the sunshine in the cemetery next door on our official library cruiser.

We have a library bicycle that resides in our basement. I don’t think anyone uses it which is a TRAVESTY and something I intend to change. In fact, that will be one of my goals for the next fiscal year: to ride the library bicycle to meetings at the senior center.
